Artificial (You)s are fake (You)s manually added onto a given copy-paste referencing certain posts in order to give the illusion that one is samefagging an entire thread. As a tactic in soyduels, it can serve to throw an opponent off balance. Artificial (You)ing a non-/qa/ thread that has since devolved into mass-replying can also out newfags, who are likely to take the artificial (You)s at face value.
