This page is a gem.

Doom: Project Soy (also referred to DooM: Project Soy or Soy Doom) is the name used for multiple Doom mods themed about Soyjak.party.

Creation

Where it all started.

The multiple Doom: Project Soy mods were created due to a thread created on January 21st 2023 where a chud suggested the idea of creating a Soyjak.party themed Doom mod. This sparked the creation of many various doom wads. Sadly, many of the wads and threads are seemingly lost to time due to many catalog wipes that occured on /soy/.

Public Versions/Branches

W8LD95.wad

w8ld95.wad is currently the oldest known Doom: Project Soy version/branch. It features a low-res Soyjak mugshot replacement, soylent replacing the medkit instead of the health bonus and Imps becoming hanging troonjaks upon death. You can download it here.

W8LD95.wad

quakeorsomething.pk3

quakeorsomething.pk3 is the first version of the "quakeorsomething" Doom: Project Soy editions most likely based on an older PK3 archive called "SOY DOOM.pk3". It features numerous sprite and sound replacements. Notable ones include the medkit being replaced with a "Thrembos" cereal box, Health Bonuses being replaced with Soylent bottles (although flickering in this version due to a sprite glitch) and the player's mugshot and HUD being Soyjak.party themed along with many other monster retextures. quakeorsomething.pk3 is the first Doom: Project Soy mod with high-res sprites in some areas. You can download it here.

Squirreljak Replacement

quakeorsomething.pk3 took the drastic change of replacing the Squirreljak pinky/demon texture with a high-res Feraljak.

quakeorsomething1.1.pk3

quakeorsomething1.1.pk3 is the second version of the "quakeorsomething" Doom: Project Soy editions. It changes minor stuff from the first version such as replacing the pixelated Soyjak mugshot with a high-res Soyjak mugshot. It also fixes the flickering Soylent bottles and changes the Soulsphere texture. You can download it here.

quakeorsomething1.2.pk3 (1.1 2)

quakeorsomething1.1.pk3 (version 2) is the third version of the "quakeorsomething" Doom: Project Soy editions. It's named the same as 1.1 due to the creator's laziness and not wanting to reload the file in SLADE3. It's adds sounds replacements for enemies like the Mancubus.. You can download it here.

quakeorsomething1.3.pk3

quakeorsomething1.3.pk3 is the fourth version of the quakeorsomething Doom: Project Soy editions. It features a new Soulsphere texture and adds a completely new monster "Squirreljak".

Hotfix

quakeorsomething1.3.pk3 had a small hotfix released shortly after it's release, the hotfix allows the player to enter the test map. You can download it here.

Out of bounds Cacodemon

For reasons unknown, there is a lone cacodemon outside the map in the 'soytest' map made available in the hotfix. The player can find this Cacodemon via entering 'noclip' in console if they use GZDoom as their sourceport.

quakeorsomething1.4.pk3

quakeorsomething1.4.pk3 is the fifth version of the quakeorsomething Doom: Project Soy editions. It fixes the "Attacks You" Lost Soul enemy and retextures the pain elemental to be OMGSISA themed. This is the first version to make the 'soytest' map inaccessible again. You can download it here.

quakeorsomething1.5.pk3

quakeorsomething1.4.pk3 is the sixth version of the quakeorsomething Doom: Project Soy editions. It makes the AR-1488 it's own weapon instead of being a chaingun reskin and reskins a few frames of the super shotgun. You can download it here.

chuddydoom.pk3

chuddydoom.pk3 is based off of quakeorsomething.pk3, it changes the mugshots sprites to be chudjak instead of a normal soyjak, fixes the flickering soylent health bottle issue, adds sounds for the troon imps, and has a rudimentary new first level. You can download it here.

FIRSTMAP.pk3

FIRSTMAP.pk3 is a modified version of quakeorsomething1.3.pk3 that features an original map, seemingly set in some weird hybrid of an asylum and high-school, the player must kill hordes of troonjaks and undead soldiers. You can download it here.

Greysquirreltest.pk3

Greysquirreltest.pk3 is a test mod that requires any post-1.4 version of quakeorsomething to function. It was made to test the squirrel race war mechanic. In order for the map to work as intended, type "notarget" in console the moment you load in. You can download it here.

Greysquirreltest.pk3's only map.

Unknown Versions

Untitled Chud Version

This version could possibly stemmed from W8LD95.wad. It's only notable features known are the Chud mugshot that is also included in chuddydoom.pk3 and custom Chud voicelines not seen in other branches/versions.

Controversy (dramafag coal)

Matrix Server

An actual conversation from the matrix. No trannyism or coal in sight.

On February 2nd, unsubstantiated allegations of tranny shenanigans were pointed towards the Doom: Project Soy development team. A group of 'teens saw issue with the use of Matrix and eventually the thread was spammed[1]. In the confusion, a member was banned from the matrix under suspicion of demoralization trooning, and was later unbanned and became part of the team. Many 'teens instead of joining the Matrix to see what was actually going on trusted the other random 'teens, leading to vandilizations of this page and the thread being falsely moved to >>>/incel/ due to rumors of an non-existent discord[2]. The Matrix branch team is still working in the public Matrix but has mainly shifted away from threads due to fears of derailing and spam from demoralization troons and shows no hostility to alternative branches. We have made sure to remove as many sources as possible to prevent you from looking at the threads yourself... YOU WILL NOT NOTICE ANYTHING OR WE WILL REPORT YOU TO THE JANNIES!

The room's rules - no troons, no circlejerkers.
