On soyjak.party, there is no way to see if you are banned without posting, so it is pretty common to post "test" to check your ban. even doe you can just go to https://soyjak.party/banned.php to check. even doe it never finishes loading.

It is sometimes done on 4chan as well since rangebans do not show up when navigating to https://4chan.org/banned.
