Should the wiki have some sort of mission statement? E.g. whether or not pages are meant to be serious or just jokes, whether it has a focus on spoonfeeding newKINGs so they can assimilate easier or if it’s more for ‘chiving, what sorts of pages are and aren’t allowed (e.g. if pages for things like TADC or Celeste or Blade Runner 2049 get made, whether or not they’ll be removed), in other words, a page for unwritten informal rules of the ‘ki?

If I can get in contact with Froot, I'll make it happen. >Though it seems he likes to post DNB on /q/ instead of responding to emails. --Tefal (talk) 03:27, 22 November 2023 (EST)

Contingency plans

The future of this wiki is quite uncertain now. Froot has shown that he has little knowlege of the wiki and can delete pages on the fly (like Alex Sazonov). And that's assuming the transfer will go smoothly.

I encourage every wiki user to start mass-archiving pages. Here what you can do:

  • Archive the article with archive.is (and put the existing links somewhere we can see)
  • Save images in the article
  • Save plain wikitext (optional)

Desperate times also call for desperate measures, so while you're saving the images you can also reupload them the jarty wiki. They have most of the articles imported already and they are just missing images. Reupload files, update the article and we should be good.

The priority list for pages is as follows

Once again, I encourage you to do your part to preserve the sharty culture. This wiki could very well go down one day without warning and we won't know until it's too late. --Tefal (talk) 11:32, 24 December 2023 (EST)

Also use ghostarchive.org wayback machine
Don't know how trustworty is Ghostarchive but (((Wayback Machine))) is absolutely not an option.

Archive.soyjak.in shutdown

The shinny archive is shutting down on fiday! You WILL go to https://www.google.com/search?q=%22archive.soyjak.in%22+site%253Awiki.soyjak.party and archive EVERY archive.soyjak.in link. --Tefal (talk) 03:19, 22 November 2023 (EST)

Dox policy

@Angeleno, what is the official Fauci-approved policy regarding doxes? I know we can't post it now but can we at least link them? Asking for a friend.

The site's on my servers for now at least. You can link as much as you want. It's the same policy I always had pre-froot. Angeleno (talk) 15:23, 14 December 2023 (EST)

Offsite Shilling

Editors should watch out for people shilling their websites and Variant:Unknowns here, like the "Zarty" or Shoejak were being forced only on the 'ki a while back. BasedAryan (talk) 15:28, 16 December 2023 (EST)

Cleaning up the wiki and quality control

There has been a flood of low quality pages on this wiki. The issues include

  • People making very small pages (one-two sentences + image) or bare bones (literally just headings with no substance) with no intention of finishing them.
  • People making pages unrelated to sharty, 'jakking or even imageboards in general. This in particular has gone up a notch recently.
  • Also straight up shilling.
  • Not linking shit. If your article is not linked anywhere then it might as well not exist at all. This is also a good indication that it doesn't belong on this wiki. Same goes for dead-end pages (pages with no outlinks).

I need (You) to improve this wiki. Here is what you can do

Whoever is going to do this the wiki will to have my full support and will forever be the wiki saving A10 aryan. --Tefal (talk) 16:20, 16 December 2023 (EST)

Personal wikis

A while ago Angeleno proposed an idea of a personal wiki for each individual user. I might have the means to actually implement this.

From now on, start moving bad or irrelevant pages to the user page of the person who created it like so: [Coaly page] --> [User:Chud50002/Coaly page]. I believe this should improve the quality of the (Main) namespace (where the actual articles are). Moreover, I think users could just create articles (or at least early drafts of articles) on their own user pages and those might be unrelated to 'jakking (Rule 7 doesn't apply). If a page is deemed good enough it may be moved to the (Main) namespace.

Additionaly, If a user makes lots of bad articles in the (Main) namespace, I can 'nish them from just the (Main) namespace, which means they can still edit and create their own articles.

I think this change should increase both activity on the wiki and the quality on main articles. --Tefal (talk) 16:23, 18 December 2023 (EST)
