Cobson is based on a character from the slow burn, bone chilling, atmosphere-oozing, trope-subverting, genre-redefining, gut-wrenching, spine-tingling, emotionally taxing, paranoia-inducing, jaw-clenching, nerve-wracking, character-development driven, soul-shaking, nail-biting, anxiety-written, kafkaesque, post-lynchian, question-asking, socially-aware, ethnically-diverse, politically-cognisant, culturally relevant, socially-prescient, thought-provoking, artisanally-crafted and cheap jumpscares free 1992 film "The Lawnmower Man". [1]
Cobson was posted for the first time on June 6th 2021 in /qa/ under the filename "lawnmower soy.png". [2]
Later, Cobson had many rapper/musician edits[3], and whether he was "coal" or "gem" was a hot topic for the soyteens[4]
Of those, there is an extremely Keyed song called "6ixThrembo - Cobbo" also known as Cob Gang
This song was used by a Keyed Brazilian as inspiration for the post which immortalized Cobson into a gem; GEMson: Coalson redeemed. It was the post of n° 10000000 on /s4s/, which by far the shittiest board on 4chan.
It's main moderator is Swaglord(Faglord), who pins whatever unfunny shit he finds palatable, while simultaneously banning innocent posters who didn't break any rules just for posting something he doesn't like.
He tried to modget, but failed miserably and got post n° 10000001 instead, this made him so furious that he nuked the Gemson GET and banned and even permabanned[5] many of the posters in it, then went to other boards searching for posters to vent his rage on. This is one of the biggest janny seethes ever documented.
