It's unknown when it started but the initial cause was the spam of cropped /pol/ brimstone.
Polish perspective
Poles are a majority of posters on eurohours, they either make gems or coals. They comment on the situation in their /int/ thread aka the territory where the Mapuche won't step in because he doesn't want to show his flag. Poles defend themselves by pointing out how they live in his head rent free.
Mapuche perspective
It's unknown why the Mapuche is so butthurted about Poles, it's speculated that either his sister was raped by a Spaniard or that his great-grandfather was Polish but there's been no peer reviewed study about that as of yet.
Questions about legitimacy
Mapuches on /int/ have commented that the obsessed poster may be merely LARPing as mapuche.[1]
