Also I know that it's easier to use Special:AllPages rather than link to the wiki externally, but the problem is that this doesn't hide redirects like the external url.

Hey, have you ever considered the fact that not all users of this wiki use soyjak.party? The wiki appears on google results, and some users who come from there might make meaningful contributions, but get filtered by captcha because they don't know who kuz/soot is.

Hi Angeleno. Good job on setting the Monobook skin, it's way better. But that is not what I come to you for today. I want to ask you to be a little more hands-off to the content on the wiki. The prime example of this is when I undo your undos of User:Lilchuddy' edits. Soyjak Wiki is held to your strict standard and I don't know why. If I were to reduce why people come here for it's to read about shitposting, so why are we driving shitposter writers away? A small edit adding a non-sequitur or something misleading is exactly the blood of shitposting, and unless the edit commits deletion of important parts of what others have written, we should, I believe, err on the side of keeping it. Err on the side of fun, or chaos. Soot's administration, although not all sunshine and rainbows (constant botted edit wars towards the later days), was when I had the most fun in the soyjak wiki, because it truly felt like a place we could just write, and fight over deranged writing like we fight over the catalog on the board. Writing, the history of that writing in the page's edit history, was itself part of the content this is why templates like "Read every revision in the page's history to learn the truth. " flourished. Currently Soyjak Wiki is much less satirical than Encyclopedia Dramatica, and while we shouldn't strive to be ED, I know you like Encyclopedia Dramatica.

moot used to write "In mature threads, be mature, in retarded threads, be retarded" on 4cuck. Originally, when acquiring the wiki, it was going to be run with little to no rules, except for some of the original soot-era soyjak.party rules, although many soyteens wanted the wiki to be factual, which is what happened. The few edit wars that did happen, such as the five board plan (as lilchuddy's edits made the entire page inaccurate), were on more serious pages, and much of the humor that did not affect the content of the page was allowed to stay. When it came to certain edits regarding sobot, kuz, etc, I generally revert edits that could be seen by some to be defamatory yet plausible.

There's not a plan to bring in a screamer wiki style moderation/style guide, but with no manual of style (as it has been deferred), some edits definitely do become a coinflip on whether or not they will be reverted, as I know I have been inconsistent with moderation, such as when Gem was asking about the Drake page. A Manual of Style is definitely something I wish to write with the community. It wouldn't be very strict, but it would help 'teens know what to expect when editing. An article that is interesting in and of itself makes you want to re-visit it. Factual articles are a bore if you already know the facts, and this is a revealing detail, if you browse the boards you already know the facts, from that follows... Factual articles are for people who want to catch up, or for those who don't browse the boards. Angeleno, this is your mindset: You want articles for newfags. This is the entitled redditor that wants "the facts!!1" spoonfed, and recoils from the challenge of clicking the link to a PDF source not accompanied by a comforting upvote count signifying the beaten path. Visiting /qa/ was all about the opposite, wanting to be confused by an odd parade that ignores you, challenged, to uncover for yourself the "genetic lines" of a magnificently inbred culture of parody. Surprise, confusion. Soyjak Wiki articles must not lay back and dispassionately describe, they should embody this motto. Those are the Soyjak Wiki articles I want to read.

evilson . a user by the name of evilson on twitter was found posting weird tweets of random gibberish letters and numbers starting from 2015-2022 in total there were 1000's of these tweets. One user by the name of xxperrellbrandonxx put one of this tweets through a lot of message decoding websites and went through 9 different websites and was about to give up when the 10th website transformed the gibberish into a link. The link could not be accessed by normal browsers as it had .onion at the end. xxperrellbrandonxx downloaded tor browser and put in the link what he saw was shocking. A lot of videos and images scattered on big page with a giant scroll bar, he described the thumbnail of one the videos to be of a child being recorded going out of school then another thumbnail of a child tortured hung up by ropes then sexually abused. He tried to click off the page but it wouldn't let him, an error box popped up and he clicked off it and kept trying to close then another box came up warning him if the PC was shut down all of his files would become encrypted and he would have no way of getting them also child pornography has already been saved on the pc. So he scrolled through all the way to the bottom looking for anything but it was all videos and images so he clicked on a video then tried to exit again and it didn't work heh ad to watch a video, the video started showing children going in and out of school then being shoved into a van then in someones basement with no clothes while watching the videos the police broke into the house and caught xxperrellbrandonxx watching the cp and arrested him. he tried to explain but the police wouldn't believe his story and he was in jail for 3 years until another man found his Twitter account where he decoded the messages and was tricked into it only this time hwas recording it and the police watched the footage and saw what perrell was saying was true and he was released from prison. CSS good, should have some updates

Firstly, the skin should be vector, as it looks like good wikipedia and fits the page well. Secondly, certain CSS exceptions must be made so that not all links are orange, such as when you hover over a page (and the tooltip is all orange..). Also, the kolyma theme had some other changes besides just making things orange. I think you'll have to experiment around to get a good fit

It's honestly a similar view that I hold when it comes to drama. hello king janny. thank you for the rollback perms. i have a couple of suggestions to improve the wiki's infrastructure security:

template protection

all of the those pages should have some degree of indefinite protection from editing. especially Template:MainPageHeader, since it being transcluded in the front page was how he was able to get past the admin-only protection and spam goatse all over it

restricting move permissions

Move category pages (move-categorypages)
Move files (movefile)
Move pages (move)
Move pages with their subpages (move-subpages)
Move root user pages (move-rootuserpages)

all of these should be probably restricted to a higher-level user group than just "Users". i think it's kind of a big risk for anyone with an account to be able to move Soyjak to niggerdicksneed or whatever, esp. since it fucks with the revision history when that happens.

Linking the history page on the main page

I saw a thread on /soy/ recently of a new user asking where to start on the wiki, and it occurred to me that the site history page is not linked on the main page. I think it would be best to do so, since it's a useful resource for new users. If you agree it should be linked, might I suggest swapping out one of the category links (Patients, perhaps) for a link to the History page?

I did not. Didn't know exactly what the announcement would be and recognizing former talks I had with kuz, and "On the internet, and other things," this is not what I thought. I really thought kuz was going to end his online presence completely, and just enjoy West Tennessee and later Omsk. Kuz definitely has very good experience in running websites, and that will help speed things up in the meantime (DOLL is obviously still learning this stuff too). Help bulk categorizing pages

When you're not too busy to answer, could you help me find out an easy way of mass-categorizing pages? Soon I'll finish User:Cliffsend/Categorizing templates, a project that wants to help Soyjak Wiki editors looking for a template for a specific purpose. Visiting the disorganized list of templates is daunting, as well as the thought of organizing them all. It pays off however, because new templates will easily adhere to the taxonomy once it is set in place.
