Meds Quest was the first soy adventure/quest thread ever created, with the original /qa/ thread beginning on January 11th, 2021. After spilling his antipsychotic Meds down the drain one day, an old voice in the protagonist Schizochad's head alerted him that he would gain godlike abilities as long as he was med-free for 24 hours. Schizochad’s adventure creates a surreal blend of more typical /qst/ threads with both ‘jak and /qa/ culture, which gained it minor notoriety in the /qa/ mythos. The final installment of Meds Quest was published on January 20th, 2021.

Pirate Quest is Questmaster’s second quest thread, with the first installment beginning on January 25th, 2021. The story picks up at the end of Meds Quest, with Schizochad going through the now dead God’s old movie collection and popping in Pirate Quest. Söyjak sparrow, Smee, and Neckbeard embark on a quest on the Söystromo in search of relics with all matter of puzzles, riddles, and battles. These additions, as well as even a greater amount of emphasis on /qa/ culture and little to no cherrypicking, make Pirate Quest a noticeable improvement on Meds Quest. The story of Flandre Adventure begins when its protagonist, a classic wojak-style soyjak (aptly named "Soyjak") awoke in the middle of the night to find that his wife/girlfriend (the exact definition of their relationship is left ambiguous) Flandre has been kidnapped. It features high-quality, full-color, custom-drawn art and many original characters as well as characters from the Touhou franchise.

Colorjak Adventure was a short-lived adventure thread that started serialisation on June 26th, 2021, featuring a Colorjak as its eponymous protagonist. Anti-colorjak activists picketed the thread and accused it of being coal, while colorjak supporters bumped it relentlessly as the thread became a political object in the colorjak war. Narratively, the thread had a simple, "blank slate" setup of Colorjak waking up in a bed in the middle of a field. The original thread was lost in a tranime coal raid.

Its story focused on a fictionalized version of Lee Goldson and his struggles against infamous Leebaiters such as the British Phone Poster and Ausfreak. It had a notably different format from other adventure threads; instead of the course of the story being entirely directed by Chuds other than the storyteller, it follows an apparently predetermined story that only occasionally and usually insignificantly incorporates suggestions from soyjak.party's Chuds. While its first two replies simply read "yikes" and "cringe", subsequent reception has been more positive.

Adventure threads are threads on imageboards such as 4chan and soyjak.party in which creative Anons/Chuds tell a story based on instructions from other users, creating a Choose Your Own Adventure-style experience. These stories are typically depicted using both text and images.

An earlier, separate tradition of adventure threads called quest threads were also developed in /qa/.

Differences between adventure and quest threads

The quest thread tradition of /qa/ is very similar to later adventure threads on soyjak.party, but still has quite a few differences . For example, soy adventure threads often feature a variety of different authors all under a certain haze of anonymity, while /qa/ quest authors always namefag, but mostly for writing the story and telling when the next edition will occur. The original author, Questmaster, occasionally posted with his title in early 2021, but has since reserved it solely in his quests and in others’ quest threads. His influence in the quest scene is so great that all other authors adopt a derivative of his name, such as Questmaster’s disciple and Questapprentice.

previously stated Soyjak Trio

Unfortunately, /qa/’s endemic spammers and necrobumpers leave little time to create much OC. Authors typically use older ‘jaks related to the situation, such as Pirate Quest #1, which uses a classic Soyjak Trio of pirates to introduce its three swashbucklers. The fast speed of /qa/ forces authors to use first reply in most scenarios, despite larger reply counts being more common in /qst/.

Notable adventure threads and quest threads

denotes threads that no longer exist on soyjak.party due to catastrophic events such as waves of Coal, conflicts between groups of posters, or cyberattacks.

Meds Quest

[link 1] [link 2] [link 3] [link 4]

Meds Quest was the first soyjak adventure/quest thread ever created, with the original /qa/ thread beginning on January 11th, 2021.

Pirate Quest

[link 1] [link 2] [link 3] [link 4]

It concluded on July 16th, 2021. The long publication span is due to the many hiatuses taken by Questmaster for his fear of repeating the same jokes.[1]

Meds Quest Z

[link 1] [link 2]

Meds Quest Z was Questmaster's most recent quest, running from July 23rd to July 30th, 2021. Continuing from the end of Pirate Quest, Schizochad and Gura meet a Biblically Accurate Angel, which are stronger than even Gods of a Planet such as the protagonist. The Angel explains that he is holding a battle royale tournament between eight universes including Schizochad's, and the losers will have themselves and their universe completely erased by corrosive meds. The first half details the choosing of the warriors, featuring familiar faces such as Frog and Soyjak Sparrow, as well as new characters like Lee and some OCs. The second half is the battles themselves, detailing the opposing universes and the tactical decisions the heroes make to survive.

Pirate Söyjak Sparrow, a side-character from Pirate Quest who became a fan-favourite.

Impjak Adventure

Main article: Impjak Adventure

Impjak Adventure was a highly-popular adventure thread featuring a variant of Impish Soyak Ears as its protagonist. It started with no existing story whatsoever, simply a picture of its eponymous protagonist Impjak accompanied by the text "The rules are simple. First one to reply decides what our impish friend here does." When the original thread became slow to load due to a large number of replies, a second thread was created to continue the story. The first thread was lost in a massive coal raid shortly after it was unpinned by Soot.

It reached its conclusion on June 14th, 2021.

Flandre Adventure

[link 1] [link 2] [link 3]

The story of Flandre Adventure begins when its protagonist, a classic wojak-style soyjak (aptly named "Soyjak") awoke in the middle of the night to find that his wife/girlfriend (the exact definition of their relationship is left ambiguous) Flandre has been kidnapped. It features high-quality, full-color, custom-drawn art and many original characters as well as characters from the Touhou franchise.

For unknown reasons, the original thread no longer exists on soyjak.party, but it has since been recreated.

Flandre Adventure was concluded on January 18th, 2022.

Soot Resistance Adventure

[link 1] [link 2]

After the Roygbivsloweddown incident, an anonymous Chud created a surreal thread featuring a winged goldfish soyjak as its protagonist. This thread had by far the most complex story setup out of all the adventure threads, taking inspiration from the true events of Operation 'Plier. The unnamed protagonist is a soyjak.party user who was banned after repeatedly "shit[ting] on the floor" in protest of Soot's banning of Roygbivsloweddown. After being both "kicked out" from soyjak.party by a moderator and subsequently banned from it for attempting to assassinate Soot, the protagonist joins a shadowy group called "Soot Resistance", a gathering of dissidents planning to overthrow Soot.

The Soot Resistance Adventure thread was lost during the Captain Coal cyberattack incident, making it the first major adventure thread to cease existing on soyjak.party. Soot's method of restoring the site to its pre-vandalized state was to use a backup made five days before the incident, which led to the loss of the thread due to its being under five days old. Soon after the incident, however, it was recreated by its original creator, who reposted all replies. Unfortunately this recreation was unintentionally deleted, apparently by Soot when he "wipe[d]" a Tor node that was being used by a spammer, deleting every single post made under that IP.[2] What a coincidence, am I right Soot?

A third thread was created on June 15th, 2021, beginning where the previous thread had ended.

Colorjak Adventure

[link]

Colorjak Adventure was a short-lived adventure thread that started serialisation on June 26th, 2021, featuring a Colorjak as its eponymous protagonista. Large numbers of colorjak detractors picketed the thread and accused it of being coal, while colorjak supporters bumped it relentlessly as the thread became a political object in the colorjak war. Narratively, the thread had a simple, "blank slate" setup of Colorjak waking up in a bed in the middle of a field. The original thread was lost in a massive coal raid.

Fun With Lee

Fun With Lee (Official title: "Vinluv Anton Handesbukia’s Legend of Barneyfag the Lee Chronicles part 1/V.A.T.H. Productions assembles: Sneedheimer(aka /Kool Yung Soot/) Presents LeeTastic Tales"[3]; also simply known as "LeeTastic Tales") was a hybrid webcomic/adventure thread created by former KnowYourMeme user Vinluv Handesbukia, who posted instalments under the name "Kool Yung Soot". Its story focused on a fictionalized version of Lee Goldson and his struggles against infamous Leebaiters such as the British Phone Poster and Ausfreak. It had a notably different format from other adventure threads; instead of the course of the story being entirely directed by users other than the storyteller, it follows an apparently predetermined story that only occasionally and usually insignificantly incorporates suggestions from soyjak.party's users. While its first two replies simply read "yikes" and "cringe", subsequent reception has been more positive.

In addition to its soyjak.party thread, Vinluv also created a film adaptation, similar to that of Impjak Adventure's but featuring original voice acting and animation.

Soyjak Quest

[link]

Soyjak Quest was a quest thread featuring oekaki-style sketches and had two protagonists, Schizojak (formerly soyjak) and Unjak (short for unnecessary jak), who appears later in the story. The quest tells the tale of the eternal battle between Jacksepticgod and the Markiplier demon possessing a funko-pop figurine, and what the two protagonist have to suffer or gain from the conflict.

Impjak Adventure: Mysterious Planet

[link]

Early in Impjak Adventure: Mysterious Planet, a chud asks for Impjak to "become colorful". The thread responds: "With your lack of magical abilities, (this is a sci-fi story, remember?) you can only turn red in frustration."

The long-awaited sequel to the classic adventure thread, Impjak Adventure: Mysterious Planet started seralisation on Feburary 11th, 2022 under the tagline "A whole new Impjak Adventure". The adventure thread was praised for its likeness to the original, its commitment to consistency, and its coherence (featuring "daily recaps" and maps).

Chudjak Adventure

To be researched: Chudjak Adventure. Can (You) help us?

Chudjak Aventure is likely lost to history. All that is known is that it had a "similar style" to Fruitjak Adventure, which was by the same publisher.

Fruitjak Adventure

Beginning publication on Feburary 11th, 2022, Fruitjak Adventure tells the tale of Sir Bugjak, a peasant of classic soyjak genetics who finds himself following a prophecy to unite the warring factions of his island and finally end the eternal battle of the ridge (an allegory for the late /qa/). From the same creator as Chudjak Adventure, Fruitjak Adventure was praised for its high-quality plot and graphics; however, the decision to invoke the "it was all a dream" trope half-way through the story was chided by critics.

Selfish Little Fuck Quest

>The year is 2130. You're a selfish little fuck who just got exiled to the undercity. One day, you forgot to attend your daily presentation on why black eco-warrior lesbian nonbinary transwomen androids are keyed and should be allowed to cock torture homophobic bigots. The computer determined you to be a foul chuddy, and exiled you to the undercity. You don't like how many racist bigots there are in this area. It reminds you of the time you saw a heckin' swastika without your SmartFilter™ on and it scarred you for life. You're scared. You own nothing, and you aren't happy at all. Where do you go now?

Selfish Little Fuck Quest began on April 16th, 2022, and was later republished as a complete collection on May 1st, 2022. Unlike other adventure threads, actions in Selfish Little Fuck Quest were decided by the first reply rather than the most appropriate reply; consequently, the first action was for the main character to shit on the floor; the second action was for the main character to eat his own shit. This narrative uncertainty kept viewers thrilled as the story progressed.

>The year is 2056. You're a selfless good boy living in the smart city who eats his buggies and rents everything like a true boss. But the shitcoin NFT game you put all your money into crashed, and now you are left penniless. Rent for your pod is due in 2 days, and you really don't want to cancel your Netflix subscription. This is a good thing since this pod deserves to be in the folds of a black trans queen. Where do you go?

Set in a dystopian "Dark Winter" future, Good Boy Quest was a gritty science-fiction adventure thread featuring Gapejak as the titular Good Boy. The plot begins with Good Boy researching the old website 4chan to make an exposé of its Anons for good boy points, which leads him on an adventure to the chud-infested underworld of his society. Good Boy Quest was a massive critical and commercial success, spawning a major motion-picture adaptation[4][5] similar to Impjak Adventure. It has been praised for its writing, art direction, and worldbuilding (Saint Kurzgesagt Temple of Science), as well as its sleekness in adapting to user input.

Markiplier-ification

Lately, more and more adventure threads seem to be focused on famous youtuber and celebrity, Markiplier. Some chuds have began to refer to this phenomenon as Markiplier-ification. Markiplier-ification happens when the fans of the famous youtuber start getting the first replies in an adventure thread, and start drifting the story to include Markiplier more.
