Wholesome Soyjak is a common subvariant of the Guinness World Record Soyjak who wears a trimmed beard, sometimes has no eyebrows, and is usually smiling. He is generally portrayed as benevolent and kind. This variant is often used to express or point out simple happiness or joy.[1] [2] [3] Sometimes, however, his wholesome nature is subverted entirely and he is shown performing bad deeds.[4] This is shown most frequently in the "ominous" version of Wholesome Soyjak, who is seen cloaked in shadow at all times.
Over time this soyjak has evolved into Impish Soyak Ears and Ishish Soyak Ears.
History
Wholesome Soyjak is based off of an older, angry looking edit of Gapejak.He was turned into Wholesome by turning his frown upside down, adding a fitting pair of eyebrows, and giving him a completely new beard.
The first known occurrence of this soyjak was on 4channel's /qa/ board. [5] but it judging by the filename, it was likely downloaded from elsewhere. Given that the Unix timestamp in the filename starts with 15, it could not have come from soyjak.party (timestamps had already reached long after 16 by Post 3,)[6] but also the Unix timestamps of the two variants posted in the first thread are sequential, meaning that they must have come from a board where multiple images per post are allowed (not 4chan). A very unlikely possiblity is that the person who made the jak saved the original unix timestamp from the unedited jak, and added 1 to the next variant.
If you look at Wholesome's right eyebrow, there is an eraser cutoff, but the version with muttonchops that was posted alongside it is lacking this eraser mark. All along the beard, it seems like it was erased, especially the left side where the muttonchop used to be. It possible that the version with muttonchops is the earliest version of Wholesome.

Ishish Soyak Ears is a variant of the Wholesome Soyjak with large eyes, a large nose, a small mouth, trimmed hair, a monobrow and, as the name would imply, a pair of ears. It was created by the same Swedish chud who created the original Soyjak and Impish Soyjak Ears. [7]
The variant remained rarely used for a long time, but saw a resurgence on soyjak.party in mid-May 2021, [8] where it was mostly used to portray Muslims. [9] [10] [11] [12]
